The inaugural RCHG seminar: ‘Causes for Concern’

We are delighted to announce the details of the first Religion, Collections and Heritage Group seminar, to be held online at 5.30pm (UK) on 15th June 2021.

The seminar will consist of three 15 minute presentations followed by questions and a panel discussion.

The speakers are:

WHY RCHG?  Aims and challenges: Crispin Paine, co-chair RCHG

Crispin has been a leading pioneer in the study of religion and museums worldwide and an instigator of this group.

CONSERVATION CHALLENGES:  Jan Graffius, Curator of Collections, Stonyhurst College

 Jan will talk about her work in El Salvador conserving human remains of religious martyrs from the civil war of the 70s and 80s as an example of what she and other conservators have to offer.   

HERITAGE CHALLENGESEmily Wolfe, National Trust

Emily will discuss the current project around the Tudor Catholic Tresham family’s Lyveden House in Northamptonshire, and its unique religious landscape.
